Supporting AIIA Throughout 2007

On Tuesday 20th February, Ajilon proudly sponsored the first of the AIIA’s Victorian Premium Event Series; an industry networking and business briefing luncheon, at which newly appointed Minister for Information and Communication Technology, Tim Holding, attended and delivered a keynote address

Opened by the AIIA’s Victorian State Chair, Ron Gauci, (Partner - Global Business Services, IBM Australia). Ron thanked Ajilon for its continued support of the AIIA. He then introduced Bill Leropoulos, General Manager Ajilon Victoria and invited him to take the stand.

After acknowledging Ron’s vote of thanks, Bill spoke of the year ahead and the opportunities it presented to the industry. He told the audience "Ajilon will continue to focus on exporting Victorian ‘know-how’ into the rest of the country as well as bringing back usable IP, to build bridges so we can develop new export opportunities.”

Bill then spoke of Ajilon’s delight in sponsoring AIIA's Premium Event Series, saying "I see these forums as a unique opportunity to continually refine our understanding of the industry’s evolving needs by participating in discussion from both a research and reality perspective".  Bill closed by saying he was looking forward to hearing from the Minister on the Victorian Government’s future directions for our industry.

Minister Tim Holding then took the stand and spoke eagerly about the Victorian Government’s ICT directions, which includes driving economic growth through export and industry collaboration, further investment in ICT related Research and Development, strengthening Victoria’s ability to address the ICT skills shortage; supporting the improvement of Victoria’s communications infrastructure and interacting and collaborating more closely with the local ICT industry.

The next event will be held sometime in May and the topic called ‘Analysts' Directions’.
