NSW Lands has sought feedback from surveyors and CAD/GIS software vendors on Ajilon’s ICSM ePlan Jurisdictional review, which forms part of a three-year program of work currently being undertaken by the agency.
Tim Telcik, a Solutions Architect and Developer at Ajilon, has largely been driving this project for NSW Lands, which has involved a major review of the way NSW jurisdictional survey plan data is captured and represented in a LandXML document.
While the work Ajilon carried out was for NSW Lands, the agency is a member of the ICSM (Intergovernmental Committee on Surveying & Mapping), a larger national working group which is exploring the possibility of rolling out a national ePlan program.
If implemented, this would build capability in the way state government land agencies receive, process and store digital plans from surveyors.
It would also deliver significant benefits to those in the surveying, property and land development sectors, providing a common mechanism for submitting electronic survey plans.
Tim said the ePlan review is a great example of Ajilon’s ability to leverage existing client relationships.
“The invitation to tender for this job came about as a result of the strong relationship Ajilon has with NSW Lands, which stemmed from our Spatial team’s SIX Viewer work.
“We actually won the ePlan review work over the Melbourne-based incumbent who’d participated in an earlier phase of the project, so this was a great achievement for us.”
