Ajilon General Manager, Bill Leropoulos, addressed more than 160 representatives of Melbourne’s ICT community, as third-time sponsor of the AIIA’s 2007 Event Series.
Guests, including Ajilon clients from Telstra, Australia Post and Toyota, met for lunch at the Melbourne Arts Centre to hear keynote speakers from Linfox Logistics, Healthscope and Visy talk on the day’s theme: ‘The Key Technological Investments for the Future – insight and commentary from three ICT CIO’s’.
Bill welcomed the audience, using the opportunity to share the rationale behind Ajilon’s recent brand change from Ajilon Consulting, to Ajilon.
Ajilon Australia forms part of the global Ajilon ICT Professional Business Line and according to Bill, the timing was right to look at ways of leveraging its parent company’s brand and global track-record within the broader Australian market.
“We most certainly still offer our core business consulting and project management services, but we’ve extended our service offering to include IT Services Management, Software Solutions and Systems Integration.
“What I wanted to relay to the CIO’s in the room at Wednesday’s forum, is that Ajilon is a full spectrum provider and that we’re able to work with our clients across the entirety of their business,” he said.
Speakers Peter Hourihan (CIO, Linfox), Keith Kranz (Change Manager Hospitals, Healthscope) and Roland Spitty (CIO, Visy) talked about the focus the Australian ICT industry needs to place on retention and creating really dynamic work environments for its employees.
Their shared view was that ICT workforces around the world will become more mobile than they’ve been in the past and that employers will need to plan for this trend in their business strategies moving forward.
Bill said the feedback he received from attendees at Wednesday’s forum was terrific, with guests touting it, “the best event so far.”
The next Ajilon-sponsored forum in the 2007 Event Series will be held on Thursday 16 August, and will focus on broadband and the issues and impacts for SME’s. If you would like more information, visit:
