For the second year running, the recruitment and workforce planning team in Perth participated in Curtin University’s Career Fair, which was held on April 2 at the University’s Bentley campus.
The event was attended by more than 100 industry representatives - including Ernst & Young, CSC, BHP, Rio Tinto, Deloitte, Accenture and Western Power - and was held to bring together employers and Curtin’s Undergraduate cohort.
Ajilon’s WA Workforce Planning Manager, Emma Wood and Recruitment Consultant, Sarah Perryman, were able to speak with many of the hundreds of Undergraduate students who attended this year’s Fair.
Emma said many of the students she spoke with were typically looking to meet with prospective employers and gauge the kinds of graduate jobs available to them upon completion of their degrees.
“We had of lot of interest from prospective graduates and we’ve since received quite a few CVs from the people we met with. We’ll be considering them as part of our graduate intake in June, so I was really pleased with the overall response we received at our booth,” she said.
“The day is always a long one, but definitely beneficial. It’s a great branding exercise, given most of clients and competitors were there on the day and saw our booth. We’ll definitely go again next year; apparently the Curtin Fair is the best one to attend.”
