After renewing his sponsorship for 2009, Ajilon's General Manager Victoria, Brett Findlay, was pleased to welcome more than 100 guests and select Ajilon clients to the first AIIA Business Briefing Forum for the year, held March 19 at the Victorian Arts Centre.
Leading industry analysts Brian Prentice, Research Vice President at Gartner, and Dr Steve Hodgkinson, Research Director at Ovum, gave their views on the event theme, The ICT Industry in 2009 and Beyond.
Brett said he felt the event ran well overall.
“From my perspective, it was a great event. We had a good turn out on the day and the speakers were thought provoking, covering both the public and private sector. Some interesting parallels were drawn between the public and private sector analysts around where they felt the growth areas would be in the global financial crisis. Cloud Computing was another theme they discussed. Both cited a comment made by IDC analyst, Tim Dillon, who says noise is building in the local market around cloud computing, but that companies will spend more getting to grips with the concept than investing heavily in it.”
