Responding with agility to complex business needs

Client profile

Our client, a private enterprise energy utility, identified the need to develop a commercial, service-orientated management and performance reporting regime to provide improved service quality and cost-effective delivery.

The challenge

Our challenge was to develop a Cost of Service Model, encompassing scope, design and build. There were other factors at play, such as a misalignment between functional accountability and cost accountability; stakeholders were scattered geographically, thus presenting a communication management challenge.

The Ajilon approach

The Ajilon team took a step-by-step approach to gauge the feasibility of moving towards a new management model. We assisted in the development of the Cost of Services Model by extensive prototyping and clearly identifying the manageable set of IT infrastructure services.

How did Ajilon respond to the organisation’s needs?

To analyse the total cost of services, we built a self-contained bespoke model using existing data sources and business rules. Each step in the development of the model was pilot tested, reconciled to data sources and agreed upon with stakeholders.

The identification of the cost of services was accepted as feasible and meaningful to the organisation.
