Client profile
Our client is a world leader in land information and management; as a government organisation, they are obliged to identify, conserve and manage heritage assets that they own, occupy or manage.
The challenge
Our client required a database that could maintain a comprehensive record of heritage properties that held a range of information, whilst being accessible to the public via a search mechanism. The key was to be creative with the architecture of an application that was cost effective, yet did what it needed to do, which was to be a key source of information.
The Ajilon approach
After analysis of the client’s needs, the Ajilon team decided to use the existing structure and design of the current system and extend it to suit business requirements. This would deliver the maximum value in time efficiencies and keep the cost down. We looked at how we could manage the database, whilst allowing ease of use within the organisation and by the public.
How did Ajilon deliver a sound architectural platform?
The Ajilon team helped import data from within the various divisions of the organisation and allowed the heritage property information to be viewed over the web in a searchable, user friendly format. In phase two of the project, the client proceeded to work with Ajilon to consolidate the data from various areas of the organisation. This had a positive impact on efficiencies as it increased accessibility within the organisation by various divisions, via mobile applications and on spatial viewer technology. Thorough testing was conducted before release, including testing done by stakeholders of this new platform.
