Client profile
Our client, a provider of analysis and assessment of water catchment areas, chose to work with Ajilon to develop a web based application for use by local government agencies. The system would be used to model the area affected by land applied with treated domestic sewage from on-site wastewater systems and therefore the potential impact on catchments and adjoining properties.
The challenges
The key business requirement was to provide a consistent and simple process, enabling local government to assess proposed on-site wastewater systems via a web based application.
The Ajilon approach
The Ajilon team quickly identified that the key issues of relevance were the need to enhance accuracy, along with developing a system that was easy to use, with the potential to deliver time and costs savings.
We recommended building a web based application that was able to combine map images and geospatial data from a variety of different sources, as well as having the capacity to implement a complex mathematical model so the client could enhance functionality.
How did Ajilon deliver a customised application?
The Ajilon team worked closely with the client and a consulting environmental engineer to integrate the client’s existing system modules into a new application.
We built a new web based application that was able to incorporate a wide variety of information, such as maps, geospatial data and mathematical models.
We were able to deliver key functionality, including enhanced search and display elements, as well the ability to assess, model and display any potential impact.
Key expertise provided by Ajilon:

Delivering the business benefits – partnering with Ajilon was the right choice
By engaging key stakeholders, Ajilon was able to build a web based custom application that specifically catered to the client’s business needs.
The new system delivered increased accuracy, with the use of a more accurate mathematical model, whilst reducing cost, by providing a system that was easy to use. Because the new system constructively used several sources of information with which to generate its assessment and reporting, the project also reinforced the client’s goals of working collaboratively within local government services.
