Due to legislative changes, Ajilon's client was required to implement a new system where "Novice Drivers" (those who have less that 2 years driving experience) are identified and have specific rules applied concerning the number of driving demerit points that may be accumulated.
The project had a direct effect on over 100,000 novice drivers in Western Australia and implemented a major part of the State Government's Road Safety Plan to Reduce Deaths of Young Drivers. Ajilon provided business analysis, project management, development, and configuration management services in order to capture business requirements and define, build and deliver a solution.
As a two-staged solution, data conversion was first undertaken so the data of those identified as "Novices" could be migrated from the legacy database structure successfully. Subsequently, a major release of the existing software systems enabled the new data structure, and allowed for the new legislation to take effect as a specified release.
Ajilon worked with a range of technologies, such as Oracle 10G, the department's custom and highly complex client-server application built in Java, and BEA WebLogic 9.2 server.
Ajilon adopted an agile approach to testing the software change and the automated Test Tool was proven invaluable during testing of the data migration, enabling us to test far more data than would be otherwise possible. |
