A global leader in the resources industry, and the world's largest supplier of iron ore, leveraged its long-standing partnership with Ajilon to completely overhaul its Railroad Operations. This is an ongoing, major project in which Ajilon is assisting the client to align rail information systems and processes to improve train and rolling stock management and increase rail tonnage throughput.

This high-profile program will re-develop a number of the business processes, information systems, and supporting infrastructure with the objective of increasing utilisation of rail assets, minimising rail downtime, and providing visibility of Rail Operations - allowing RROPS (Rail Road Operations Systems) to be retired.

Ajilon's services have included Program / Project Management, Business Analysis, Software Design and Development, Testing, Change Management, Infrastructure Management, Application and post Go Live Support, User Training

Specifically, Ajilon's role involves:

• Overall program management and PMO services
• Business change management, including training, and communications
• Design and development of the technical solution
• Management of all contracted 3^rd parties
• Release management and Infrastructure management and support
• Overall management of Test Program, Test Strategy, Test Planning and execution of the plan
• Support business testing teams during User Acceptance Testing
• Vendor management and delivery of test related artefacts and milestones
• Operational handover and support

The technologies used in implementing the solution have included Oracle, MES, XI, Xmii, Business Objects, Middleware, GSAP, SAPBW. Solution also comprises 3^rd party propriety systems from various vendors, field tags, readers, and hand held devices.

As at May 2009, this program is still in progress. Ajilon has delivered 3 out of 7 planned releases which are now running successfully in production.
